It is located in South America which contains immense plains, forests, deserts, tundra, rivers, and thousands of miles of ocean shoreline. Argentina became independent in 1816 from Spain but the afterword civil war lasted until 1861.The name of the country comes from the Latin word for silver- ‘Argentumargentum’.

Government and Capital

The government type of the country is ‘Presidential Republic’.

The capital and the largest city of the country are Buenos Aires which is a multicultural city known for Eclectic European architecture and rich cultural life.

People and Culture

More than 45 million living in this country in the area of 2,780,400 sq. km. Spanish is the official language though there are Italian, English, French, German, indigenous (Mapudungun, Quechua) speaking people also present. About 74.3% of people are Christian, 24.1% are unaffiliated and 1.6% belong to other religions.

The country has significant European influences. Influence from Italian, Spanish, and other European immigration from France, the United Kingdom, and Germany are mostly shown in modern Argentine culture.

Economy and Resources

Rich natural resources, populations are highly literate, having an export-oriented agricultural sector, and an effective industrial base is the Key resources of the country. Although 100 years ago it was one of the world's wealthiest countries, it suffered from continuous economic crises, huge inflation, a larger amount of external debt, and capital flight.

In the present day, the country plays a new leading role due to the growing global Demand concerning minerals just like lithium, and silicon.


Though ‘Pato’ is the national sport, the most popular sport is ‘Football’. In football, their men’s national team owns the most important international triplet- World Cup, Confederations Cup, and the Olympic Gold Medal.

The best football player in the current era ‘Lionel Messi’ is the striker of the Argentina football team. And they have another legend of football ‘Diego Maradona’ who led their football team and won the world cup in1986. They won the world cup two times, one in 1978 and another in1986.

Health and Education

Argentina has an extensive system of hospitals and clinics which are run by nationals, provincial, and local authorities with the aid of qualified medical professionals. And mostly the costs are covered mostly by occupational insurance plans.

They have free and compulsory primary education; secondary and higher education are free in public school and college. In Latin America, they have one of the more educated people.


They have varied natural assets such as ‘Iguazú Falls’ which is a huge waterfall located on the border with Brazil. Besides this, they have ‘Perito Moreno Glacier’, ‘Ushuaia’, ‘Puerto Madryn and the Valdés Peninsula’, ‘Tierra del Fuego National Park’ and lots more. In 2019 around 5 million tourists visited Argentina.

In the present day, the country is developing in every sector because they have highly educated people, lots of natural resources, and a friendly tourism environment.
