Universities that do not normally receive financial support from the government and are not run by the government are called Private Universities. Although it is not controlled by the government, it is established by the Government Law, and a grant is approved by the commission. Like other countries of the world, Bangladesh also has Private Universities. The number of which is always more than the government universities in all countries.

Universities are ranked based on their study standard, environment, regulations, results for boys and girls, and their achievements. I will discuss with you the Top 10 Private Universities in the University Grant Commission (UGC) Ranking of Bangladesh.

01.North South University (NUS)

North South University (NUS) was established in 1992 in Bashundhara, Dhaka 1229, and Bangladesh. It started as the first private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The government of Bangladesh approved this university under the private University Act 1992. It is a private higher education institution in Bangladesh. The University started with this motto of the “excellence of higher education” center. The number of present students of this university is 13990 and the number of teachers is 1258 and the educational officer is 907. 02.BRAC University (BRACU)

BRAC University (BRACU) is a residential non-government university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was founded by Bangladeshi Social Worker named that person is Fazle Hasan Abed in 2001. This university started with this motto of the “Inspiration for excellence” center. It also provides merit-based scholarship. Professor Vincent Chang is the current vice Chancellor of this university. The Number of a present student at this university is 8000 and the number of teachers is 862. East West University in short, (EWU) is a private university located in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. First, the university situated in 1996 at Aftabnagar, Dhaka of Bangladesh. This university started with this motto of “Excellence in Education” center. Professor Dr. M.M. Shahidul Hasan is the current vice Chancellor of this university. The frst project of this university was Progoti Foundation that was a non-profit organization. The number of students in Aftab Nagar Campus is 10400. It also achieved the highest ranking score. The Chittagong Campus of Independent University Bangladesh, in short, (IUB) is a private university located in Chittagong. It was established in 1999 in the Jamal Khan Road area of Chittagong city. The main campus of this university is located at Bashundhara in the capital of Dhaka.
