India Flag India’s official name is Republic of India (भारत गणराज्य) but there are a few names for the country such as Bharat and Hindustan. it is located in South Asia having the world’s second largest population of 1.387 billion and 7th largest country by land covering area in the world, covering up to 3.287 million km2 and coastline of 7,516.6 kilometer surrounding by Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. India is sharing boarders with six country on land Tibet, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Pakistan and Nepal and. Its Maritime boarders are with Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

There are a number of 28 states and 8 union territories. Some of the biggest states are Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat and Karnataka by area, Uttar Pradesh has highest number of population.


In 2019 India was having nominal worth of 2.9 trillion dollars according to (IMF) International Monetary Fund, India is settled on 5th number having the largest economy for its market exchange rates of 11 trillion dollars and 3rd on Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). The rate of growth was 5.8% in GDP from last two decades but it reached 6.1% in 2011-12.

In 2016 India was ranked 2nd in having largest labor force of 513.7 million. Main agricultural products are wheat, rice, jute, cotton, seed oils, tea, potatoes and sugarcane.

Major industries are telecommunication, textile, vining, cement, chemicals, biotechnology, steal and food processing.

Taj Mahal: It is constructed by ivory white marble located in Agra, it was constructed in 1653 for favorite wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan costs around 32 million rupees on that time.
Agra Fort: It is a historical place and it was the main residence of Mughal Dynasty until 1638.
Red Fort: Commonly known as “Laal Qilla” located in Delhi and it was main residence of Shah Jahan, it was reconstructed in between 1639-48.
Diamonds: Diamonds were first mined in India and it was the largest producer of the world before 18th century. one of the most famous diamond Kohinoor was first found here.
Zero: India gave the concept of Zero in mathematics.
